Well they kind of made their acting debut in Westfield’s recent Limousine 13 film, but now Australia’s upwardly-mobile twin brother footballers-turned models-turned Dancing With The Stars stars, Jordan and Zac Stenmark, are about to make their big screen debut. And in Hollywood, no less.

As revealed by WWD, the duo has just been cast in Brett Leonard’s new feature Diamonds Down Under.

Co-written by American baseball player Tad Powers, the romantic comedy charts Powers’ own life story about travelling to Australia in 1989 to play Winter League for the Sydney Metros, during the first season of the original Australian Baseball League. Powers went on to own and manage the Sydney Wave team.

Confirmed cast thus far also include Jack Thompson, Nicky Whelan, Casey Bond and Lewis Jetta, who plays an indigenous Australian player called “Wundy”.

Leonard’s previous features include The Lawnmower ManVirtuosity and Highlander: The Source.

The Stenmarks are playing twin brother characters “Bryan” and “Bryce” who play first and third basemen on the team, they said at last week’s Australian Fashion Foundation party in Sydney.

Shooting commences February according to the Stenmarks.

Having ditched AFL scholarships at Sydney University in 2011 to pursue modelling full-time, the former Greater Western Sydney under-18 team members made their international fashion debut in mid 2011 with a 40-page sport-themed spread  -called, appropriately enough ‘Yes We Can’ – in top French menswear magazine L’Officiel Hommes.

They went on to open and close Calvin Klein’s Fall/Winter 2012/2013 menswear show in Milan in January 2012 and have since become regulars on the menswear show circuit and have modelled for, among many others, Abercrombie & Fitch and American Eagle.

Now managed locally by IMG Models Australia, the duo also managed to infiltrate this year’s season 13 of Australian reality tv show Dancing With The StarsJordan was the first contestant eliminated, with Zac lasting until episode 7.

Due to a raft of commitments – which, alongside the film, also include preparations for the David Jones Autumn/Winter 2014 runway showcase in Sydney on January 29 – the duo said they are likely to skip the Fall/Winter 2014/2015 show season, which commences in London on January 6.
