The girl from Wongarbon
Long time, no post.
Apologies for the lack of content of late, however Frockwriter has been tied up with a few different work commitments. These include an exciting new project that we will be able to unveil tomorrow.
Meanwhile, here is a brand new face for you – 17 year-old Sydney Barber from Wongarbon, a tiny rural village located 18 kms east of Dubbo in Central West NSW. Population 500.
A fortnight ago Barber was selling pizza from a van at the Dubbo Show.
That weekend, a posse from IMG Models Australia just happened to be in town on a scouting trip and attended the show, spotting the 5’9” dreadlocked blonde during one of her short breaks.
Meeting up the following day at the Wongarbon local store – in fact the village’s only store – Barber was signed on the spot and last week travelled to Sydney to begin her IMG development journey.
Although Frockwriter didn’t mind the pink highlights, the dreadlocks apparently had to go and a three hour dread-brushing session with Renya Xydis at Valonz last week has since transformed Barber into a blunt cut brunette. Rather smart – and more than a little reminiscent of Abbey Lee Kershaw.
According to IMG Barber is a self-confessed “sewaholic” who has her sights set on fashion design. But we won’t be surprised to see those plans momentarily derailed by a modelling career.
Here are a few before and after shots.
