Auckland’s Red 11 Models is on a roll at the mo.
This last Spring/Summer 2014 show season saw three Red 11 girls on the runways – Holly Rose Emery, Anmari Botha and Lili Sumner, with Emery walking in 31 shows and tapped as one of the Top 10 newcomers of the season.
We recently profiled one of the agency’s brand new faces Juliette Perkins. And now comes Rochelle Newdick.
The 5’10.5″ 19 year-old from Tauranga in New Zealand’s north island wasn’t spotted at a KFC, which would have been a great story – even though she does in fact work at one for 14 hours a week in her home town. That’s while she completes a Bachelor of Management Studies at the Bay of Plenty Polytechnic.
A friend recommended that she send in some images to Red 11, which signed her immediately.
Newdick’s super-athletic physique is no coincidence. A devotee of the longjump, hurdle and discus events, she has competed twice for her country in the Pacific School Games in Australia: in 2005 in Melbourne – where she placed third in the long jump relay team – and then again in Canberra in 2008.
Sport runs in the Newdick family. Rochelle’s brother is the five time New Zealand decathlon champion and 2010 Commonwealth Games silver medallist Brent Newdick.
Here is a first look at some digis taken by the agency, with plenty of other tests – and professional jobs – on the not-too-distant horizon we will take a bet.
